While I was studying at the University of Notre Dame, it was my love of cheese that led me to spend a year in France, and after graduating with degrees in Philosophy and French, it was my love of foreign languages that led me to work as a Peace Corps Volunteer in rural China.
In China, I discovered my love of storytelling, which led me to Florida State University’s Film School, where I earned my MFA in Film Production with a specialization in Cinematography.
My love of filmmaking then led me to Los Angeles, where I completed a 2-year training program at Panavision Hollywood and joined the International Cinematographers Guild as a camera assistant.
Ultimately, I hope to combine my passion for foreign languages and cultures with my love of filmmaking. In a world that continues to grow smaller and smaller, I hope to be a bridge for artists who want to create projects that cross borders. I am particularly keen about using my Mandarin language skills and experience with Chinese culture to work on Chinese-American co-productions.
